Anxiety, courage, failure, joy, compassion. How does our world actually view the value of people "without their own territory"? The production not only reflects current events, but is above all a picture of the human search for self and the personal transformation of each of us.

The performance Ostrov! (Island!) is the premiere of a site-specific version of the award-winning performance, which has been applauded by audiences throughout the Czech Republic as well as in Seoul, Hong Kong, Katowice, Poland, Pula, Croatia, and Tanečno, Slovakia. This intense dance whirlwind is a scenic journey into unspoiled nature, which is more a part of us than we think. Jana Burkiewiczová: "The premiere of Ostrov at the Church of St. Simon and Jude is a big moment for us. It was here ten years ago that the BURKICOM ensemble was founded. Together with seven performers and a live band, we presented a twenty-minute performance that became the basis for our first production, Divočina, marnivost ptačích per (The Wilderness, the Vanity of Bird Feathers), as well as the basis for a future trilogy exploring the natural world, which The Island completed. However, the performance in the church will not only be a festive moment, but also another step in our effort to transport the audience directly into the center of the action. In the spirit of the production, we are stepping out of the theater space and letting Ostrov grow and flourish unstoppably."

The production reveals the emotional world of separation and return, drawing attention to the invisible connections between space, body, and memory. With each departure, the question arises: Why leave? Then another question arises: Why stay? Whatever we choose, we inevitably find ourselves between two realities – 'here' and 'there'. We are trapped somewhere in between. Present in the space we currently inhabit, but also in those we could have been in – and are not. Sometimes we are even absent from the body that keeps us in the present moment, because part of us has remained with those we have let go.

The personal confessions of three performers invite us into the bowels of the house and to the edge of my own and other people's bodies. Tereza has just moved in, Klára is baking cookies at home, and Kristýna is celebrating her 18th birthday. The immersive performance by Tereza Holubová, Klára Kočárková, and Kristýna Štarhová explores the inner space of rejection, being stuck within oneself, and the borderline between giving life and not giving life. Through gesture, tap dance, and words, the performers traverse their territory of emptiness, loss, or, conversely, discovery. Together with the audience, thanks to them and through them, they allow themselves to take the risk of embarking on their own journey in the next moment. The production is presented as part of the festival's off-program.

Who is a role model and what is a heroic deed when you are seventeen? Unlike ours, in the world of heroes it is clear who is good and who is evil. In the world of dance heroes, moreover, the hero takes to the stage for the first time as if he were doing so for the hundredth time. He is not afraid of epic, pathos, hip-hop, and no blow can bring him down. When they fall, they get up, and if they don't get up, there is another hero to help. Nineteen third-year students of the Duncan Centre Conservatory seek their attitudes and movements in an energetic dance performance based on real and comic book heroes and in the light of a slightly more complicated real world. The production is presented at the end of the International Dance Exchange as part of the festival's off-program.

Silent is a 35-minute sound performance for audiences in public spaces, during which the body and mind receive a series of movement instructions. One voice triggers the first audio, another joins in, and gradually a multi-layered soundscape of thoughts and movement emerges. The project responds to the Covid-19 pandemic. To its impact on public space, closed borders, and the inability to travel. To the exposed vulnerability of our bodies. How do we connect with each other in such a world? What does the body remember and what has it forgotten? Can we create new bonds and experience closeness? The performance takes place with headphones, which will be available for loan on site.

In Ever, Václav Kuneš explores our relationship with social media and ourselves. "Are we just objects in the spotlight, which cuts off everything hidden in the dark?" he asks, mixing a fluid form in which four dancers float through space in an endless flow, accompanied by an essay by Václav Havel and music by Exhausted Modern that urgently drives time forward. "Who are we when we're not on social media? What compels us to voluntarily put ourselves on a pedestal?"

SA solo performance on the borderline between dance, physical theater, and visual art, presenting a visually impressive study of balance, endurance, and creativity. Twenty-two conference chairs, an obsessive rhythm, and one body in constant interaction with space. In the solo performance PLI, Viktor Černický becomes both architect and living building material, transforming ordinary objects into fascinating visual compositions in an endless cycle of construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction. The space is constantly being shaped under his hands – dynamic installation collides with performative precision, movement turns into sculpture, chaos into a perfectly organized whole. Building on the Baroque philosophy of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, PLI is an unpredictable and witty performance where Baroque robustness is replaced by spatial modesty and material minimalism.

FFairy Tales is a visually captivating dance performance full of fantasy, emotion, and fairy-tale imagery. At the center of the action are eight dancers, live singing, and guitar lines, whose uniqueness creates a story about femininity, overcoming stereotypes, and searching for freedom in one's own ideas about happy endings. The performance combines elements of well-known fairy tale narratives with current questions about the role of femininity in our world.

IThe St.Art production is the result of several years of research at the intersection of sport and art. The creative team behind the project is Cirk La Putyka, led by director Rostislav Novák Jr. in collaboration with choreographers Josef Fruček and Linda Kapetanea from Fighting Monkey. The performance is full of movement, emotions, images, euphoria, anger, and victory. Sport as a gateway to topics that will appeal to everyone—whether they love or despise sport. Back to ancient Athens, to the sun and dust, to reflections on the lives of today's professional athletes.

Rostislav Novák ml.: "Do you know what fascinates me most about sport? How it can reveal what is deepest within us — determination, pain, joy, and despair. In this production, I try to show that sport is more than just performance. It is a journey on which a person encounters themselves—their own fears, dreams, injuries, and victories. And it is precisely these stories that are in our performance—stories about how a person tries to find themselves."
